市知识产权局高度重视“2006广州国际设计周”知识产权保护工作，为创新和设计成果的传播及推广应用创造良好法制和社会环境。主要措施：（一）依托“设计与自主创新高峰论坛”等平台加强知识产权宣传，设立专门展位展示我市知识产权工作成果，现场派发大量知识产权宣传资料。（二）派出执法人员进驻展场进行检查监督，处理各种知识产权侵权投诉。（三）现场开展知识产权相关政策咨询，介绍我国外观设计专利保护特点和状况。
